Irish-based Hot Drop Films and New York’s Baboon Animation have announced a transatlantic creative alliance, enabling the development companies to share each other’s credits and experience.
This includes access to both pools of writers and other talent, composed both of up-and-comers and seasoned creatives.
They will also tap into each other’s funding sources as well as create more prospects for international co-funding by allowing promising IPs to be developed in the region which makes the most sense creatively and economically.
In addition to acquisitions, the two parties greatly look forward to jointly developing original in-house IPs and already have several in the early stages.
Founded by DreamWorks alumnus Mike de Seve, Baboon Animation's team has provided Emmy-winning and Oscar-nominated writing, story editing, directing and design to animation studios and networks worldwide for more than two decades.
Hot Drop Films was founded by Alan Keane and Shane Perez, two long-time industry professionals who have extensive experience working in development, writing and story editing shows for a number of high profile international clients such as ONE Animation, Aurora World Productions, BBC, RTE, Aardman Animations, Cartoon Network Studios Europe, Cartoon Network Studios Arabia, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, Kavaleer Productions and JAM Media just to name a few.
