Martin McDonagh’s short film ‘Six Shooter’ has been nominated for a BAFTA award in the Best Short Film category.

‘Six Shooter’ is McDonagh’s debut film (he is well known for his previous work as a playright), the film stars Breandan Gleeson (Troy, Cold Mountain), Ruaidhri Conroy (Harts War), David Wilmot (Intermission) and Aisling O’Sullivan (The War Zone).
The film has picked up numerous awards at festivals during 2004 including Best Irish Short at the Foyle Film Festival 2004, and Best First Short Film at the Cork Film Festival and was selected to screen at the prestigious London Film Festival last September.

‘Six Shooter’ will be broadcast on Channel 4 and is produced by Missing in Action Films, Funny Farm Film & Television and Fantastic Films and co-funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board and Film Four Lab. International sales are being handled by The Works.
The BAFTA Awards will be hosted by Stephen Fry on Saturday 12th February at the Odeon, Leicester Square and broadcast on BBC ONE.
