The nominations for the 2004 Irish Film & Television Awards have been announced with Paddy Breathnach’s ‘’Man About Dog’ scoring ten nominations, Lenny Abrahamson’s ‘Adam & Paul’ is shortlisted for eight.
There are 26 categories decided on by a select Jury of leading International and Irish industry professionals. Aine Moriarty, CEO of the Irish Film and Television Network (IFTN), which organises the event said;
”The nominee line-up of Irish titles and talent is very impressive this year and is a great indication of the very strong talent base coming out of Ireland. We are delighted with the positive response received from the industry ¬ submissions were up by 30% on last year and the 122 Irish and international jury members have worked very hard on the short-listing and are now facing the difficult task of choosing the winners to be announced at the Ceremony on 30 October.”
Following on from the success of the Awards in 2003 this year’s ceremony promises to be a highly prestigious and glamorous event with a host of film stars, TV personalities, executive directors, producers and distinguished guests in attendance to toast the undisputed talent that exists within the Irish film and television industry. The ceremony will be broadcast by RTÉ One on the 1st November 2004.
