Liz Gill’s award winning feature ‘Goldfish Memory’ will be given a limited UK release in October along with scheduled releases across Eurpoe and America.
‘Goldfish Memory’ is written and directed by Liz Gill and produced by Breda Walsh. The cast includes Keith McErlean (Bachelors Walk), Fiona Glascott (Any Time Now) Lise Hearns, Aisling O’Neill, Peter Gaynor (Fair City), Sean Campion (Stones in His Pockets) and Flora Montgomery (When Brendan Met Trudy.)
The film will be distributed in the UK through MPG Millivres Multimedia and will open at the UGC Shaftesbury Avenue on 8th October 2004. The film opened in Brazil last week with a good response and will open in the US and Spain this Friday. Polish audiences will get their chance in September and releases in Italy, Germany, Austria and Switzerland will follow in October. A planned Irish DVD release is due before the end of the year after exceptional video/DVD sales through Xtravision.
Since it premiered in Ireland last year the film has been acclaimed by critics worldwide. It picked up eight 2003 Irish Film and Television Award nominations and has won the Audience Award for Best Feature at the Valladolid Film Festival 2003, Spain and the Audience Award at the OUTfest 2003, Los Angeles.
