As part of the Exhibit1 showcase at the Digital Hub, a series of talks entitled 'Talk Digital' takes place over the coming days.
There will be four talks in February in the Digital Hub Project Office
by the creators of the work featured in the current exhibition. The
talks are open to the public and are free of charge.

Dates:
Thursday 6th February: Projects featured will focus on Music-image
manipulation and interaction.
Monday 10th February: Featuring creators of Rich Content Design, Games,
Music Promos.
Thursday 20th February: Looking at interaction in art works beyond the
mouse and screen.
Tuesday 25th February: A full screening of the film and animations
featured in Exhibit1 and a chance to talk to the creators of the work.
Exhibit1: Exhibit 1 is the first in a series of quarterly exhibitions
showcasing digital technology. Over the next year The Digital Hub will
be exhibiting a range of work that demonstrates and explores the
creative possibilities of Digital technology, which will be hosted at
the new Digital Hub Project Office in 10 - 13 Thomas Street. This
exhibition and the others to follow will provide a unique platform for
newcomers and established artists, filmmakers, designers, programmers,
developers, musicians and animators from diverse backgrounds. The
Digital Hub is a Government initiative to create a centre of excellence
for innovation, creativity, research and learning, focused on developing
new and existing digital media enterprises.

Parallel: Conor Curran
Parallel is an application concerned with trying to define the more
difficult aspects of music visually such as timbre and texture. Oct-tree: Tim Redfern
Octree.faces is an installation that composes a dynamically changing
collage of a moving picture from a live camera feed. Using a database of
images culled from the Internet, the installation chooses and scales
images to match the colour values from the incoming video feed. The
resulting dynamic collage can be manipulated by audience interaction -

He Jumped And Kicked And Spun And Twirled: David Donohoe
He Jumped And Kicked And Spun And Twirled began its life as a collection
of footage shot by my younger brother Michael, in 1995, aged 14. All in
all the piece has become a paean to the adolescent eccentricity of my
younger brother.
