Toronto filmmaker Ron Mann, one of Canada's foremost documentary filmmakers will lead a masterclass in documentary filmmaking at this years Sustainable Living Festival 2004.

Ron
Mann has been an award winning documentary filmmaker for over twenty years. He is known for examining pop culture in his films with a wide range of subjects addressed. From his debut feature ‘Imagine the Sound’ (1981) featuring jazz musicians Cecil Taylor, Archie Shepp, Paul Bley, and Bill Dixon, ‘Grass’ (1999) that looks at the history of the American government's battle with marajuana in the 20th Century to his most recent feature ‘Go Furhter’ which follows a group of alternative individuals, led by actor Woody Harrelson down the Pacific Coast Highway towards an enlightened more simple way of life; he has proven to be a highly creative and innovative filmmaker. Having previously won the Genie Award for Best Documentary twice (Comic Book Confidential & Grass) he was nominated in 2004 for ‘Go Further’.
This is a rare opportunity to share ideas and inspirations with Mann. The Class will take place as on Thursday 29th of April 2004 from 13.30-17.30. Price EUR 30.
‘Go Further’ receives its premiere screening at the IFI Saturday 24th of April as part of the Festival.
The Festival is run by Convergence, Sustainable Ireland and will begin on ‘Earth Day’ 22nd April and run until 1st of May 2004.
