Hugh Jackman has relocated to Belfast, as the filming of his new movie gets underway.
The Wolverine star has made the North his home for the next few months, as production begins on The Death of Robin Hood. Jackman stars as the lead in the new project from director, Michael Sarnoski, whose previous work includes Nicolas Cage-headlined Pig and A Quiet Place: Day One.
“It has been an incredible opportunity to reinvent and freshly innovate the story we all know of Robin Hood,” said director Sarnoski. “Securing the perfect cast to transform the script to screen was essential. I could not be more thrilled and trusting in Hugh and Jodie to bring this story to life in a powerful and meaningful way.”
Jackman stars opposite Swedish actor Bill Skarsgård, who played the titular character in It. He will also be joined on screen by Jodie Comer, of Killing Eve and The Last Duel.
Produced by Ryder Picture Company and Lyrical Media, The Death of Robin Hood is currently filming in Belfast Harbour Studios and on location around Northern Ireland.
There is currently no release date for the movie, but production is believed to have begun last week.
