StudioCanal and Working Title have announced that Andrew Scott will star in Pressure, a new historical thriller directed by Anthony Maras (Hotel Mumbai).
Pressure is described as "a visceral edge-of-your-seat ticking-clock thriller, based on the extraordinary true story around the three day run up to D-Day", written by Olivier award-winner David Haig and Anthony Maras, based on Haig's West End play.
Scott will play James Stagg, Britain's chief meteorological officer, who is called upon to deliver the forecast for D-Day, locking him into a tense standoff with the entire Allied leadership, with the final decision resting with Supreme Allied Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower. With only hours to go, the fate of the war and the lives of millions hang in the balance.
Scott was nominated for a Primetime Emmy earlier this week as both star and producer of Netflix's limited series Ripley, adapted from the work of Patricia Highsmith.
The film will begin production in September in the UK, and STUDIOCANAL is handling worldwide sales.
