In The Shadow Of Beirut
The film will join 70 documentaries from around the world that will screen at the festival.

In The Shadow of Beirut has been announced to receive its world premiere at the 2023 Doc Edge Festival on June 1st 2023.

Screening as part of Doc Edge's Our World, Our Stories branch, which celebrates thought-provoking films that provide a window into the lives and stories of people from diverse regions and cultures, In The Shadow of Beirut captures the stark reality of life in Beirut's Sabra and Shatila neighbourhoods.

Directors Garry Keane and Stephen Gerard Kelly follow four families over 4 years and depict the harsh rituals of their daily lives as they struggle for survival in a city and country on the brink of financial collapse. Through extraordinary access, the filmmakers open a window into a largely unseen world to unfold a collection of utterly compelling human narratives filled with resilience and hope.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with co-director Stephen Gerard Kelly. Tickets can be purchased here.
