Phil Lynott: Songs For While I'm Away
Following several months of cinema closures, Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy fans will finally get an opportunity to watch Emer Reynold’s captivating and revealing feature documentary chronicling the life on one of Ireland’s greatest frontmen.

Breakout Pictures has confirmed that Phil Lynott: Songs For While I’m Away will release in Irish cinemas nationwide from June 11th.

Phil Lynott: Songs For While I’m Away is a feature documentary on the life and music of Phil Lynott, telling the story of how a young black boy from working class 1950's Dublin, became Ireland's greatest Rock Star. Told extensively through the words of Phil himself and focusing on some of his iconic songs, the film gets to the heart of  Philip, the father, the husband, the friend, the son, the rock icon, the poet and the dreamer.

As lead singer of Thin Lizzy, Lynott and his group enjoyed international success and Reynolds’ documentary tells his story largely through the words of the performer himself. The film also focuses on many of his best-known songs.
