Filmed on location in Co. Tyrone, A Bend In The River stars the former boxer turned actor John Duddy (Emerald City), Kathy Kiera Clarke (Derry Girls), IFTA winning actor John Connors (Cardboard GangstersLove/Hate), Brendan Broderick (Emerald City), Johnny Mc Connell (Emerald City), and introducing Nicola Boyle.

Making its Irish premiere to a sold out digital screening at Belfast Film Festival, the semi-autobiographical story follows struggling writer Matt Donnelly (Duddy), who returns from New York to Northern Ireland for the first time in 25 years. Matt faces the ghosts of his past (Clarke); an abusive teacher, his dead mother, and his childhood best friend, who sacrificed an easier life to stay at home and fight during The Troubles.

A Bend In The River is slated for a combined digital and theatrical release later this year with Indie Rights in the US.

The film is produced by Julie Ryan for MK1Studios and exec produced by Josh Brolin, Con McCormack, and Donn Cisternino.

The film was shot by Richard Linklater’s longtime cinematographer Shane Kelly, who features as Director of Photography. Edited by Mike Foott and Jon Greenhalgh, music by Colm Mac Con Iommaire, sound design by Nikki Moss, with Planet of Sound doing Music Supervision.
