Today with Maura and Dáithí celebrates 1000th episode.
This Monday, December 9th, Today with Maura and Dáithí will broadcast their 1000th show live from Cork on RTÉ One.

This series milestone show presented by Maura Derrane and Dáithí O Sé marks the start of Maura and Dáithí‘s on-air Christmas season as the set will have some extra festive sparkle for the coming weeks.

Speaking about the landmark ahead of the show Maura Derrane said:

“It’s such an achievement for everyone working on the show to reach 1000 episodes. We are all very proud. It’s all down to great commitment from everyone in RTÉ Cork and to our loyal audience who have journeyed with us for eight years. We are so thankful to them.”

Dáithí O’ Sé added:

“I remember getting a call from the boss at the time asking me if I would like to go to Cork for a few months. I didn't realise his few months meant 96 months and counting... It is really great to see how the show has changed and evolved down the years and I really think this year we have the perfect formula. A special mention and word of thanks to the audience - if it wasn't for your loyalty we wouldn't be here. Go raibh míle maith agaibh.”

James Patrice will be backstage at Dancing with the Stars rehearsals to exclusively reveal the final two celebrity dancers who will take to the dancefloor, when the series returns on Sunday, 5 January, 2020. The Rebel Brass band will be performing throughout the show, increasing in numbers and volume as the show goes on. There will be a fashion takeover by fans of the show, led by fashion stylist Anne-Marie Gannon. They will also have special 1000th episode celebration mugs to give away to viewers.

Each and every day the team in Cork put in a huge effort to brighten up everyone’s afternoon, and both Maura and Dáithí deserve great credit for always put the audience first -that’s the secret of their success.”
