Nigel Brennan in Spears
Originally filming in Donegal, the neo-noir style thriller has since filmed in Florence and will later move on to London and Berlin.

The story follows a young Private Investigator who is sent to Italy to find a woman who mysteriously disappeared there, however he soon finds himself tangled in a web of obsession and revenge. The film's title is taken from the Emily Bronte quote; "Treachery and violence are spears pointed by both ends; they would those who resort to them worse than their enemies."

This is the second feature film from Irish director Gerard Lough, best known for the short Stephen King adaptation ‘The Boogeyman’ and horror feature ‘Night People’. Starring Nigel Brennan, Michael Parle and Yalda Shahidi, Aidan O' Sullivan, Bobby Calloway, Rebecca Thompson and Thomas Sharkey, the film also features music from Irish electronic artists Sleep Thieves. Lough also features as DoP whilst Cian Furlong composes the score.

Speaking to IFTN, Lough said:

"I was attracted to neo-noir as it served as both a change of genre to my last film, Night People, which was horror / sci-fi, as well as playing to my strengths of striking visuals, foreboding atmosphere and style. Style is something I think is a little lacking in current Irish cinema so I'm going to try and readdress the balance a little with this thriller.”

Production is set to return to Ireland soon, with a release date yet to be announced.
