Deadline for Tickets to IFI Documentary Festival Panel Discussion Close at 5pm

Screen Producers Ireland & the IFI have announced that due to demand, the deadline for tickets will close Tuesday evening at 5pm.

The IFI Documentary Festival 2018 runs this week from Wednesday, September 26th – Sunday, September 30th.

The panel discussion, which will focus on the topic of ‘the state of documentary production in Ireland today’, has also announced that Ciaran Kissane of the BAI has joined the panel.

Hosted by the Irish Film Institute in association with Screen Producers Ireland, the panel discussion will take place at 12 pm in the IFI, on Friday, September 2018.
As audiences change and publishers look for the next big hit, Irish and international speakers will discuss the challenges and successes they have experienced in getting documentaries made. 

These include:

  • the types of content that receive funding;
  • who is commissioning and distributing content;
  • The impact this has will be forefront in the discussion.

Venue: IFI, 6 Eustace St, Temple Bar, D2
Date: 28 September 2018
Time: 12pm-1pm

  • Laura Slattery (MC), The Irish Times;
  • Cormac Hargaden, Loosehorse;
  • Siobhan Ward, Crossing the Line Films;
  • Loren Syer Willoughby, Off the Fence Distribution.
  • James Hickey - Screen Ireland
  • Sean Mac Giolla Padraig, RTÉ Group Head of Factual
  • Ciaran Kissane, Senior Manager, Broadcasting Authority of Ireland

This will be a great opportunity for producers and others who are involved in documentary and factual productions to have an open conversation about the state of the industry and where the future lies.
