10 Sep 2018 : Nathan Griffin
Bow Street Academy for Screen Acting has released the official programme for its Short Film Festival, which will take place on Culture Night – Friday, September 21st.

The mini-festival, which is designed to showcase the great acting talent emerging from Bow Street and their alumni features 35 award winning short films and sketches including work by Maria Doyle-Kennedy (‘A Different Kind of Day’), Jim Sheridan (‘11th Hour’) and the BAFTA nominated Wren Boys by Harry Lighton.  Some of the many memorable performances throughout the evening come from IFTA Winners Barry Keoghan and Charleigh Bailey, plus IFTA Nominees Fionn Walton and Niamh Algar.

Also confirmed to screen on the night is ‘Her Name Is..’  from Actor/Director Lydia McGuinness (‘Rebellion’, ‘The Delinquent Season’) and recent award winners Hold The Line by Karen Kileen & Laura O'Shea and Bath Mat by Jamie Sykes.

As well as the Short Film Festival, Bow Street will also host a Stand-Up comedy show featuring various alumni who have made an impact on the comedy circuit including Eric Lalor, Hannah Mamalis, Stephan Mullan and Terry O’Neill.

Speaking about the Programme, Artistic Director Shimmy Marcus told IFTN:

“We wanted to do something special for Culture Night this year that was both entertaining for the public and an opportunity to showcase the great work of our graduates. We are incredibly proud of the success of all our alumni and we thought this was the best way to celebrate their contribution to the Film & TV industry”.
