John Creedon's Road Less Travelled Set to Debut on RTÉ This Sunday
16 Jul 2018 : Nathan Griffin
RTÉ Cork’s new production ‘John Creedon’s Road Less Travelled’ will air this Sunday at 6:30pm on RTÉ One.

The new series follows John as he travels along three different routes that avoid Ireland's motorway infrastructure in an effort to explore and enjoy the scenic landscapes, streetscapes and stories that Ireland has to offer across its roads less travelled.

Episode one will see John Creedon journey along the Cork-Dublin route – Formally a hugely busy road prior to the M8 being built,  the forgotten road will see John take a visit to Kilworth Camp to relive his days in the FCA, where the Irish Army puts his shooting skills to the test.

In Cahir he meets the internet comedy duo The Two Johnnies. He then heads to Thurles to meet Leo Moran of the Saw Doctors to reminisce about Feile 1990 and the coming of age of the musical youth of Ireland.

And finally, to celebrate Mondello Parks 50th year John tests his driving skills in time trial against former Rally driver Rosemary Smith.

The series was produced and directed by Barry Donnelan / Afric Ni Chianain / Mary Martin, Assistant Producers; Rory Cobbe / Dee Ní Mhairtin, Editors; Ronan Carberry / Aileen Crowley / Jon Ulrich, Camera; Barry Donnelan / Pascal Cassidy / Alex Sapinza, Sound; Neill Hurley / Peter O’Connor / Niall O’Sullivan, Programme Department Assistant & Production Manager; Sonya O’Neill.

The commissioning editor on the series was Colm Crowley with Janet Frawley as Executive Producer.
