Following the news that a record 46,286 fans attended Croke Park to watch the Ladies All-Ireland Football Final (8,000 more than the previous record from 2016), TG4 have announced that the viewership figures for this year’s final have also been beaten.
TG4 have revealed that a recorded high peak audience of 563,000 watched Dublin lift the Brendan Martin Cup following three previous and successive final defeats.
Croke Park played host to the Junior, Intermediate and Senior Ladies Football Final.
An average of 303,800 tuned in for the entirety of the broadcast, with 409.700 estimated to have tuned in for the Ladies Senior Football Final. The peak however came in the run-up to Dublin finally getting the opportunity to lift the Brendan Martin Cup.
It was a thrilling day of action at Croke Park with Fermanagh rallying to earn a draw in the junior final, Tipperary getting the better of Tyrone in the intermediate decider and late goals helping the Dubs to victory over Cora Staunton's Mayo.
