IndieCork and Visegrad Festival, the platform for films from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, have created a partnership for their 2017 festivals.
The Visegrad festival is in its third year and IndieCork in its fifth.
IndieCork takes place from October 8th to 15th and this year will include a special focus on short films and features from the Visegrad countries. One of the highlights of the festival will be the Hungarian comedy success It’s Not The Time Of My Life with director Szaboics Hajdu attending and presenting a Masterclass. The film won the Grand Prix at the Karlovy Vary Festival in 2016.
“We are honoured to been invited to join forces with the IndieCork Film Festival for their fifth anniversary of presenting independent film and music in the rebel county.” said Visegrad Festival Director, Peter Zemek.
“Visegrad Film had previously been without a platform here in Ireland. These European countries’ significant collective history and respective identities have a rich culture, producing an impressive wealth of film.
“We’re delighted to be able to present Visegrad films under the umbrella of IndieCork” said IndieCork Co-Director Mick Hannigan. “We’ve admired Visegrad festival founder Peter Zemek’s vision and drive in establishing the Visegrad festival and look forward to this collaboration. We know that the IndieCork audience will greatly enjoy the Visegrad films."
