Emer Reynold’s documentary on the iconic Voyager space mission has received widespread acclaim ahead of its Irish cinema release this Friday.
It has been announced Richard Abramowitz of Abramorama is now handling distribution in the US from August 11th. Plans are to begin in the Cinema Village Theatre in NYC and the Laemmle Playhouse Theatre, Pasadena, California with plans for further rollout across the USA.
The title is produced by John Murray and Clare Stronge of Crossing the Line, with cinematography from Kate McCullough and editing from Tony Cranstoun.
Throughout its festival run, ‘The Farthest’ has been celebrated by major festivals such as Tribeca, Edinburgh, Seattle, Sydney and ADIFF. In the lattermost festival it earned the AUDI-ence award in addition to Best Irish Documentary and the George Byrne Maverick Award.
An entirely Irish production, ‘The Farthest’ includes interviews with thirty of the original scientists and engineers who built and flew the ground breaking mission, never-seen-before archive footage from inside NASA along with spectacular CGI, designed and created by Irish talent. The film not only celebrates these magnificent machines, the people who built them and the vision that propelled them farther than anyone could have ever hoped but it also explores what it is to be human and the mysteries that define our existence.
