Channel 5’s Milkshake! to air Cartoon Saloon series ‘Puffin Rock’

The animated series is set to air on the channel following a deal with Hoho Rights, who hold international rights in all territories bar China.

’Puffin Rock’ centres on young puffins Oona, Baba and their parents, is a coproduction between Cartoon Saloon in Ireland and Penguin Random House and Dog Ears in the UK.

Maurice Joyce (The Selfish Giant ) directs with writing from Lily Bernard, Tomm Moore and Paul Young, and the vocal talents of Kate McCafferty (Oona), Sally McDaid (Baba), Geraldine Cole (Mama) and Brian McMonagle (Papa).

‘Moone Boy’ star Chris O’Dowd also features as a narrator on the series, sharing comedic facts about the natural world.

“We were completely charmed by the sweet characters that occupy Puffin Rock and the artistry of the series. The show will be a fantastic addition to the new-look Milkshake! lineup.”

Just this year the series was nominated for three Annie awards, for Best Animated Television/Broadcast Production for Preschool Children, Best Production Design (Lily Bernard) and Outstanding Achievement in Writing (Davey Moore).
