Element Pictures Distribution announce The Filmmaker’s Tour with ‘Vincent Van Gogh: A New Way of Seeing’
11 Jul 2017 : Katie McNeice
Documentarist Phil Grabsky will attend a series of screening and Q&A sessions of his latest project in cinemas across Ireland from July 15th-21st.

Grabsky is both director and executive producer of ‘Vincent Van Gogh: A New Way of Seeing’ and is the creator of the Exhibition on Screen documentary series, the originator and pioneer of bringing exhibition-based art films to cinemas.

Previous titles include ‘Michelangelo: Love and Death’, ‘I Claude Monet’ and ‘The Impressionists’. Phil and his team have worked with galleries around the world including the National Gallery, London, Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam and MoMA, New York. Phil Grabsky will be traveling to six cinemas around Ireland between July 15 -21st

Synopsis
Enjoying complete and unprecedented access to the treasures of Amsterdam’s Van Gogh Museum, this a fresh new film about one of the world’s favourite artists, marking both a major re-hanging of the gallery’s collection and a celebration of the 125th anniversary of Van Gogh’s death. Experience the wonder of seeing these masterpieces on the big screen while specially invited guests, including world-renowned curators and art historians, offer their interpretations and explanations of his work. Beautifully shot and making extensive use of Van Gogh’s own letters this is a wonderful film about a wonderful, but too often misunderstood, artist.
