Commissioning Call: Entertainment Series for RTÉjr
12 Jun 2017 : Katie McNeice
The national broadcaster is seeking submissions to supplement the growing number of strands made especially for children under seven years of age.

The deadline for applications is Friday July 14th 2017 for a Spring 2018 transmission.

Essential for all proposals is a clear understanding of the proposed target audience and their needs, and the potential to bring something original, innovative and exciting to our audience.

Of particular interest to RTÉ are co-productions with broadcasters or content producers in other countries. These should deliver material reflective of and relevant to youngsters living in Ireland in a way that is cost-effective.

Proposed series should consist of twenty half-hour episodes to a maximum budget of €500,000. They must appeal to young children but with broader appeal for older siblings and families for transmission in the early evening co-viewing slot.
