First Look at Ruth Negga in Preacher Season 2 Trailer

The first look trailer for season two of Preacher has been released starring the Irish Oscar and IFTA nominated Ruth Negga (Loving) alongside Dominic Cooper (Mamma Mia) and Joseph Gilgun (This Is England).

From the Co-Executive Producer of Breaking Bad Sam Catlin and developed by Seth Rogan (This Is the End) and Evan Goldberg (Sausage Party). Season two of the AMC Studios series is scheduled to air on June 25th 2017.

The first look trailer of the second series features Ruth Negga at the wheel of a car heading in a dangerous direction to a sing-along of Dexys Midnight Runners classic ‘Come On Eileen’.

Ruth stars in Preacher alongside her long term partner Dominic Cooper and a familiar face from her days on the E4 drama Misfits Joseph Gilgun.

The actress has also been nominated for Best Actress in a Lead Role at the upcoming IFTA Film & Drama awards which take place in Dublin this weekend, Saturday 8th April. Ruth is nominated for playing the role of Tulip O’Hare in the first series of Preacher.

As well as her nomination for drama, Ruth also has a second IFTA nomination at this year’s ceremony, she will be up for Best Actress in a Lead Role in Film for playing Mildred Loving in Jeff Nichols Loving a performance that has been instrumental in putting the Irish actress into the international spot light recently.

Season two of the comic book adaption series Preacher is due to air on June 25th.

The IFTA Film & Drama Awards 2017 take place Saturday 8th April at the Round Room of the Mansion House in Dublin. They will be hosted by Deirdre O'Kane and coverage and highlights of the ceremony will be broadcast on RTÉ One, Tuesday 11th April at 10:15pm.
