Currently being filmed in the Netherlands and Dublin, ‘The Fox’ is the second feature film by Director Klaas van Eijkeren (‘No Man’s Land’). Set against the background of foul play within politics and especially where our privacy is at stake.
The lead role of Hague-based Europol agent Simon Fox will be played by Irish actor Morgan C Jones, (‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Vikings’ and ‘Ripperstreet’). The plotline see’s the agent leading a painful life after he accidentally shot and killed a child. Struggling with this trauma Simon gets confronted with a secret post-war resistance organization called ‘Gladio’. The organization is abused by illustrious politicians in their hunger for power, as a result of which The Netherlands is likely to degenerate into a police state. If it becomes clear that Simon’s father established ‘Gladio’ after the war with very different intentions, Simon is determined to turn the tide.
Speaking about the film, Director Klaas van Eijkeren said: “I have always been amazed about the ease with which we accept our loss of privacy. This is an exciting background for me in which protagonist Simon Fox needs to accomplish his quest, surrounded by the sinister atmosphere of murky politics.”
Acting alongside Morgan C Jones is Eric Corton (‘Penoza’, ‘Bloed’ and ‘Zweet’), Maarten Dannenberg, (‘Good People’, ‘The Chess Player’ and ‘Stop Over in Hell’), Anita Donk (‘Voetbalvrouwen’, ‘Goede Tijden’ and Slechte Tijden), Joshua Rubin (‘Thick As Thiefs’, ‘Penoza seizoen 5) and Felix Maginn.
‘The Fox’ is expected to be released around September 2017, in The Netherlands followed by other territories. The film is independently produced by Pink Moon Entertainment and Expressie Produkties, and was also partly supported by crowdfunding platform Cinecrowd.
