There was disappointment for Irish cinematographer and BAFTA nominated Seamus McGarvey ‘Nocturnal Animals’ as he missed out on a nomination in the Best Cinematography category which included ‘Arrival’, ‘Moonlight’, ‘La La Land’, ‘Lion’ and ‘Silence’ featuring Liam Neeson.

Oscar-winning and nominated Academy members including Jennifer Hudson, Brie Larson, Emmanuel Lubezki, Jason Reitman and Ken Watanabe joined Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs to reveal the 89th Oscars nominations, this afternoon Tuesday, January 24th.
In a departure from the tradition of a live audience at the Academy, this year's nominations were announced via a global live stream on Oscar.com
The 89th Oscars will take place on Sunday February 26th at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood and will be hosted by American talk show host Jimmy Kimmel.
