‘Game of Thrones’ won Best Drama Series at the 22nd Annual Critics’ Choice Awards which took place at the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica, California on Sunday evening the 11th December.
Filming is currently underway for ‘Game of Thrones' season seven, which includes various shooting locations in Northern Ireland. The drama is set to premiere in summer 2017.
Other winners on the night included, ‘Silicon Valley’ for Best Comedy series, Netflix’s ‘BoJack Horseman’ won Best Animated series, Best Talk-show went to ‘The Late Late Show’ with James Corden, Best Supporting actress in a drama series went to Thandie Newton for ‘Westworld’ and in film some of the winners included ‘Arrival’ which won Best Sci-Fi/Horror Movie, Natalie Portman won Best Actress for ‘Jackie’ and Margot Robbie won Best Actress in an Action movie for ‘Suicide Squad’.
The musical starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone ‘La La Land’ won the most awards of any nominated film or television shows at the event, picking up 8 wins for production design, cinematography, editing, and score, It also landed best original song, best director and best original screenplay for writer-director Damien Chazelle, and best picture.
