A homegrown Oscar contender, the king of chatshows and a singer who is ‘Walking in the Air’ will join Ryan Tubridy on ‘The Late Late Show’ this Friday at 9pm on RTÉ One.

Chatshow legend Michael Parkinson, singer Aled Jones and comedian Des Bishop are amongst the guests. With Oscar buzz building and her cover of US Vogue landing on newsstands, Limerick actress Ruth Negga  joins Ryan on the Late Late couch to chat about going from humble beginnings on RTÉ’s ‘Love is the Drug’ more than a decade ago to starring in one of the most talked about movies of the year, 'Loving'.

Chatshow king Michael Parkinson will be dropping by to talk about his extraordinary career interviewing some of the most famous people in the world and his friendship with the late, great Muhammad Ali.

Des Bishop will be telling viewers about casting a satirical eye over Irish current affairs in his new RTÉ2 show and he’ll be addressing those rumours that he may be donning his Cuban heels for a dancing challenge in the New Year.

When veteran broadcaster Charlie Bird decided to get a dog, he got more than he bargained for. He’ll be sharing his cautionary tale.

More than 30 years after he became a key part of Christmas with the release of ‘Walking in the Air’, Aled Jones is back with a unique duet with his younger self and he’ll be chatting to Ryan about his life since he was catapulted to fame.

And in documentary news with more than 4,000 visitors every week, the Marian Shrine in Knock goes from strength to strength. A new documentary ‘Strange Occurrences in a Small Irish Village’ is set to hit TV screens, Ryan takes a look at the Knock phenomenon with descendants of the original visionaries and volunteers who work at the Shrine.

There will also be a catch up with Eurovision-winning songwriter and ‘Nighthawks’ broadcaster Shay Healy, who will also be performing a song as well as other music from ‘The Hothouse Flowers’.

‘The Late Late Show’, Friday, December 9th at 9.35pm on RTÉ One.
