Broadcaster Adrian Chiles hosted the second annual awards ceremony last night in The MAC, Belfast, where the very best in local film production and creative talent were honoured.

Broadcaster Adrian Chiles hosted the second annual awards ceremony last night in The MAC, Belfast, where the very best in local film production and creative talent were honoured.

Guest presenter Bronagh Waugh (The Fall) presented the award for International Production award, which went to BBC Sport for ‘Sports Personality of the Year.’

  • Comedy and Entertainment: Waddell Media, ‘The Commute’
  • Factual Series: Erica Starling Productions, ‘Find Me A Family’
  • Factual Single: Green Inc Film & Television, ‘Patrick Kielty’s Mulholland Drive’
  • Current Affairs: Erica Starling Productions, ‘Dispatches, Channel 4, Kids in Crisis’
  • News Coverage: UTV, ‘UTV Live at 6 – EU Referendum Result’
  • Drama: Hat Trick Productions, ‘The Secret’
  • Children’s and /or Animation: Sixteen South, ‘Lily’s Driftwood Bay’
  • International Production: BBC Sport, ‘Sports Personality of the Year’

Managing Director of Green Inc Stephen Stewart received the RTS NI Judges Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the production sector in Northern Ireland.

Steve Carson , RTS NI Chair & Head of BBC Northern Ireland Productions:
“This year’s programme awards have been an outstanding success and we’re extremely heartened to see the quality being produced in Northern Ireland. My thanks to the judging panel had a tough job working through almost 70 entry submissions over the past 12 weeks. We’re all looking forward now to a stronger, enhanced awards programme in 2017.”
