The professional development day on Tuesday, November 22nd caters to female writers interested in producing work for film or television, or adapting current work for the screen.
In association with The Writer’s Guild of Ireland and supported by Words Ireland, this Mindshift event will address commonplace gender inequality in the industry.
Topics covered will include writing for film and television in Ireland, the under-representation of women in writing for and directing film, the policy of the Irish Film Board on gender, and finally both the creative and contractual processes of adaptation.
Speakers on the day are CEO of Writer’s Guild Ireland David Kavanagh, Screenwriters Lauren Mackenzie and Juanita Wilson, Writer/Director Marian Quinn, and Writer/Academic Dr. Susan Liddy, and London based Agent Julian Friedmann.
