The Meath native will feature on the Thursday and Friday shows.
Angela will be filling in as a co-host on ‘The One Show’ while regular Welsh presenter Alex Jones is on maternity leave from January 2017.
Dan McGolpin, BBC Controller of Daytime and Early-Peak, made the announcement yesterday.

I have always been a massive fan of The One Show and love being part of that wonderful family so I really can't wait to get started, “Angela says in a BBC press release.
The 32-year-old will feature on Thursdays and Fridays and will be one of the two presenters lined up to fill in for Alex during her time off alternating with Michelle Ackerley.
Scanlon has presented for RTE on the following shows; documentary ‘Oi Ginger!’ and the follow-up series ‘Angela Scanlon: Full Frontal’ and ‘Angela Scanlon's Close Encounters’ for RTÉ2, RTÉ/BBCNI travel show ‘Getaways’.
More recently Angela is co-presenter on BBC 2’s ‘Robot Wars’, alongside fellow Irish comedian Dara O Briain. Also a documentary she filmed for BBC Three ‘Trumps Unlikely Superfans’ was broadcast this week, November 3rd. The documentary is about the rise of Donald Trump, and follows Angela as she meets with the passionate and unlikely people to find out why they support his controversial campaign.
