RTS NI Announce Shortlist for NI Programme Awards 2016

Broadcaster Adrian Chiles (The One Show) will host the Royal Television Society Northern Ireland Programme Awards ceremony on Thursday November 17th at The MAC, Belfast.

BBC Northern Ireland boasts two shortlisted entries in the Current Affairs category, including the IFTA-nominated segment ‘BBC NI Spotlight: Selling Northern Ireland’ and BBC NI Spotlight: Inside the Cartel.’

‘The Frankenstein Chronicles’ from Rainmark Films Ltd is nominated under Drama, with VFX completed by Screen Scene VFX, and shares this category with ‘The Secret’ starring James Nesbitt from Hat Trick Productions Ltd. The third and final project under Drama is ‘Line of Duty’ from World Productions Ltd.

Sixteen South enjoys two nominations for ‘Lily’s Driftwood Bay’ in both the International Production and Children’s and / or Animation categories, and was also listed in the recent nominee list for the upcoming BAFTA Children’s Awards.

Also listed for awards in both ceremonies is Zodiak Kids Studios for ‘The Secret Life of Boys.’ Irish TV & Riverside Media has also made the shortlist under International Productions for the ‘Irish TV Country Music Awards.’

This is the second annual awards ceremony of its kind, in association with Performance Film and Media Insurance, and recognises the very best creative and television production talent in the local industry.

There was a significant increase in submissions for this year, with sixty-seven across eight categories; Comedy and Entertainment, Factual Series, Factual Single, Current Affairs, News Coverage, Drama, Children’s and /or Animation and International Production.
