Irish Reels Film Festival kicks off Friday October 7th

The Seattle-based festival will open its 19th festival with Simon Fitzmaurice’s ‘My Name is Emily’ (Evanna Lynch, Michael Smiley), followed by Ben Cleary’s Oscar-winning short film ‘Stutterer’.

Rebecca Daly’s award-winning ‘Mammal’ starring Irish talent Barry Keoghan is the feature presentation for Saturday October 8th, which was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance this year.

‘You’re Ugly Too’ from Mark Noonan is also set to screen and received the award for Best Feature at Galway Film Fleadh 2015, starring Aiden Gillen and Lauren Kinsella.

The programme also features a strong documentary line-up with IFTA-nominated ‘Older Than Ireland’ from Alex Fagan, Gary Lennon’s ‘A Doctor’s Sword’, Risteard O'Domhnaill's ‘Atlantic’ and ‘I Am Belfast’ from Mark Cousins.
