Deidre O’Kane narrates the upcoming premiere episode, which airs Thursday, September 22nd at 9.30pm on TV3. ‘Mrs. Brown’s Boys’ star Rory Cowen is also set to narrate and will be introduced in the fifth episode.

The new twelve-week series will see Ireland’s most opinionated and avid TV viewers comment freely on the best and worst television shows of the past week, from the comfort of their own homes.

The series was edited in Screen Scene, with Alister Mayes in the role of Lead Editor. Grainne Ahern is Senior Producer, Karen Reen is Production Manager, PDs are Pete Kilane, Mark O'Neill & Ciara McGinity, Edit Producers are Jean Devlin, Jane Wong and David Noble.

Darren Smith of Kite Entertainment:
"We're delighted that G Day has finally arrived. It's been a long road to air but with our Simon Proctor led production team we're in the best possible hands. Our cast are fab and we're confident the Irish audience will take them to their hearts, laughing with them and shedding the occasional tear over the next twelve weeks."

Three of the participating households have been revealed ahead of the first episode.

The first household is Cabra girls and best pals Jamie, Lindsay, Ashley and Grainne. All four are reality TV addicts and their ideal Friday night involves the sofa, the telly, a gossip session and copious amounts of white wine.

The second household is Szymon and Aga, originally from Poland but now living in Tallaght. The pair have been best friends since they met in college 16 years ago. Aga moved to Ireland from Poland in 2004, having completed her MA Degree in Environmental Protection Science and went on to receive her PHD at UCD, while Simon arrived in 2007 to celebrate Halloween, fell in love with the country and never left.

Last but not least, there’s The Gruffertys from County Kildare. Mum Laura and dad Des met 14 years ago when Des walked into Laura’s hairdressers for a trim and came out with her phone number! A house, wedding and four kids later, they’re happily settled in their hometown of Athy.
