The Royal Television Society is currently accepting entries for the awards scheme, with a deadline of Friday September 16th.
The awards ceremony will take place at the MAC in Belfast on Thursday November 17th in association with Performance Film and Media Insurance.
Entries are welcomed by broadcasters, companies and individuals based or working in Northern Ireland.
Recipients will be awarded in the following categories, and the panel of judges will also honour an individual for their outstanding contribution to the production sector in Northern Ireland with the presentation of the RTS NI Judges Award.

- Factual Series
- Factual Single
- Current Affairs
- News Coverage
- Drama
- Children’s and /or Animation
- International Production
With the exception of the International Production Award, all work must have been aired on a Television channel for the first time between 1 June 2015 and 1 August 2016.
This is the second year of the RTS NI Awards, which were launched in 2015 in a bid to recognise the work of exceptional production teams. At the 2015 launch, Michael Wilson, the RTS Northern Ireland Chair and Managing Director of UTV stated:
“The RTS Programme Awards have long been recognised as a symbol of excellence within the TV industry and are highly prized by those who enter and those who win. Building on the considerable international critical acclaim recently enjoyed by Northern Ireland TV production talent, which has included strong contributions to recent success at the BAFTAs, Broadcast Awards and Emmys, through these regional awards, we are creating a new platform to celebrate the achievements of the local industry and to showcase the best talent from Northern Ireland.”
