Northern Ireland Screen Short Film Call

Entries open for the second short film call of 2016 on Friday August 26th. The deadline for applications is Friday September 23rd.

Applications are accepted at both individual and company production levels. The intention of the scheme is both to develop Northern Ireland creative talent and to encourage NI resident producers to make significant contributions to developing talent within the local industry.  

Individual Production Award

This award is aimed at new Northern Ireland resident writer / directors. Awards will be made of up to £2,250.


Key Assessment Criteria: 

  • The quality of the applicant’s previous films
  • The quality of the proposed script
  • Viability of the project in terms of ambition against budget

Production Company Award

This award is designed to develop working relationships between emerging writers and directors and production companies who need their talents. Awards will be made of up to £7,500.
