‘Red Rock’ actor Darren Cahill joins ‘Vikings’ Season 5
15 Jul 2016 : Katie McNeice
Best known for playing Davey Webb in Irish drama ‘Red Rock’, which recently began airing on BBC One, Darren Cahill is set to take up the role of Aethelred in the upcoming season of ‘Vikings’ series.

The character is son to Aethelwulf, played by Irish actor Moe Dunford, who took home the IFTA for Best Actor in a Supporting role in Drama this year for his performance.

The 25-year-old actor “It’s been going really well. It’s great getting to work with such amazing cast and crew on such a prestigious show.”

Series five is currently being filmed in Ashford studios, Co. Wicklow, which recently finalised plans for a €90M expansion. The prime filming location in Ireland is set to add 716,000 sq ft of space in 12 new buildings, further developing the contributions made to the local and national economy with hit shows such as 'Vikings.'

Actors Cahill and Dunford are pictured below at the recent Galway Film Fleadh.
