‘The Undertaker’ will be penned and directed by UK director Christopher Smith, chronicling a final job taken on by a former IRA man; to assassinate a Vatican-based priest guilty of paedophilia.
Smith is most widely known for his work in the horror genre, with features such as ‘Triangle’ and ‘Severance’.. ‘The Undertaker’ is backed by Catalyst Global Media, who are also set to co-produce with Dan Films.
The news of this latest co-production has come not less than a week after a new audio visual co-production treaty came into force, replacing the 1998 treaty with substantial updates to improve the quality of collaboration between Irish and Canadian co-production companies on feature films, TV dramas and documentaries.
Irish co-production ‘Love and Friendship’ is also enjoying continued success, with screenings still underway at home and glowing reviews gathering internationally.
Further updates will be released on ‘The Undertaker’ on IFTN in the coming months.
