Steven Davenport Named as IFB Inward Production Manager
29 Apr 2016 :
Steven will be responsible for the promotion of Ireland as a location for film and television production and will be the first port of call for local and international producers looking to film on location in Ireland.

This role will also ensure that Ireland remains a film-friendly location by providing on-the-ground logistical support to international production through a network of partnerships throughout Ireland.

Commenting on this recent appointment James Hickey, IFB Chief Executive said “I'm very happy to welcome Steven to the Irish Film Board. Steven has an excellent reputation within the Irish film industry with over two decades of experience across locations and production management. He has an in-depth knowledge of production and the infrastructural offering in Ireland and his experience will be very beneficial to film and television productions looking to film here.”

Steven Davenport said “It is a very interesting time for the Irish film industry which has experienced huge success this year. I am excited about the prospect of joining the Irish Film Board to continue the promotion of Ireland as a world class destination for filmmaking”.

Steven has obtained an extensive and varied knowledge of the industry over the last twenty years as a producer, production manager and location manager across film and television projects. Production manager credits include feature films Birds Across The Sound, A Thousand Times Goodnight, Without Name and A Dark Song. Steven was a co-founder of the successful production company Underground Films and he has produced a number of award winning short films. He was also location manager on RTÉ's award winning flagship dramas Love/Hate and Raw. He has most recently worked as a line producer on the new feature film MAZE, currently in production in Cork.

Recent international productions filming on location in Ireland include Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, Love & Friendship, Penny Dreadful and Vikings. Bord Scannán na hÉireann / the Irish Film Board is the national development agency for the Irish film, television and animation industry, investing in talent, creativity and enterprise.
