Brown Bag Films' CEO Cathal Gaffney has been appointed to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Brown Bag’s parent company 9 Story Media Group.

Cathal also remains at the helm in Brown Bag Films, which was acquired by 9 Story last year, but will add the role of COO for 9 Story Media Group, overseeing production, technology and HR.

Commenting on the appointment Cathal Gaffney said: “I’m really delighted with this next chapter of growth. Facilitating an environment where creativity can thrive is something that motivates me very much and working with extraordinary, talented people on extraordinary projects across our studios in Toronto, Manchester and Dublin is a real privilege."

Founded in 1994 by Gaffney and Darragh O'Connell, animation studio Brown Bag Films have worked with some of the world’s biggest entertainment names, including Disney, Nickelodeon, BBC, Chorion, Silvergate Media and Amazon Studios.

Their work includes acclaimed international kids series such as ‘Peter Rabbit’, ‘Doc McStuffins’, ‘The Octonauts’ and ‘Bing’.
