John Michael McDonagh’s crime comedy ‘War on Everyone’ has landed an international deal after screening at Berlinale last month.

Arthouse, the leading Russian distributor of foreign and independent films, has acquired the film, according to ScreenDaily.

The film, which made its’ world premiere at Berlinale this month, will also play in the Narrative Spotlight of the SXSW Festival later this month. ‘War on Everyone’ stars Michael Peña and Alexander Skarsgård as corrupt cops looking to blackmail and generally stitch up all the felons they cross paths with. The crime comedy, which was shot early last year in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is writer/director John Michael McDonagh’s first feature set outside Ireland with ‘The Guard’ and ‘Calvary’ both shot in Galway and Sligo, respectively. He won three IFTA Awards for his work on ‘The Guard’ (Rising Star, Best Script and Best Director) and one for ‘Calvary’ (Best Script) with both films picking up Best Film.
