It will be a busy week at the National Film School at IADT as their ongoing NFS Lecture Series will host Oscar nominated ‘Room’ producer Ed Guiney and IFTA-winning Sound Editor Patrick Drummond.

Ed Guiney runs Element Pictures with his business partner, Andrew Lowe. He has been closely involved with Lenny Abrahamson's work from the short, ‘3 Joes’, twenty-five years ago to last year’s ‘Room’, which was recently nominated for four Oscars, including Best Picture.

Other credits include: ‘The Lobster’, directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, Gerard Barrett's ‘Glassland’, the IFTA-winning soap ‘Red Rock’, ‘Shadowland’, ‘The Guard’; ‘Lassie’, ‘Boy Eats Girl’, ‘Omagh’, ‘Disco Pigs’, ‘Sweety Barrett’, ‘Guiltrip’ and Paddy Breathnach's ‘Ailsa’. He has received six IFTA nominations, winning three times.

This lecture with Ed Guiney will take place on Tuesday, March 8th on the NFS campus (Room C026) at 6pm.

On Wednesday, March 9th in Room C026 at 4pm, the NFS Lecture Series will also host Supervising Sound Editor Patrick Drummond.

Patrick Drummond joined Egg Post-Production as Head of Sound in November 2013, with almost 40 years of international experience in the area, including work as sound effects editor, foley artist, dialogue editor and sound designer.

North American credits include ‘The Changeling’, with George C. Scott, which won Drummond a Genie Award; ‘Body Heat’ and ‘The Big Chill’, both directed by Lawrence Kasdan; ‘Broadcast News’, directed by James L. Brooks; ‘Dick Tracy’, directed by Warren Beatty; and ‘As Good as It Gets’, with Jack Nicholson. Irish features include ‘About Adam’, ‘Disco Pigs’, ‘The Actors’, ‘Sanctuary’, ‘Gold’, ‘The Canal’ and ‘The Truth Commissioner’.
