End of Year Round-Up: Steve Lynch of Stellar Sound talks ‘An Klondike’ and ‘Let Us Prey’
20 Dec 2015 : Seán Brosnan
Among Stellar Sound’s projects this year was TG4’s four part series ‘An Klondike’
Continuing our End Of Year Round-Up, we talk to Steve Lynch of Stellar Sound about their 2015 and what’s in store for 2016.

Stellar Sound is an award winning music company that specialises in commercials and films. It was set up in 2004 by composer Steve Lynch.

Here, Steve talks to us about ‘An Klondike’, ‘Let Us Prey’ and upcoming projects in 2016.

IFTN: What have been the highlights of 2015 for Stellar Sound?

Steve Lynch: Highlight of the year was scoring ‘An Klondike’ for Dathaí Keane (TG4), it was great to get to work on a four part series, as a composer it's a good opportunity to write longer cues and use reoccurring themes throughout the series. Also the music is full of banjos, which is always a plus! Definitely hope to do more of that in the coming year.

Another highlight was a horror I scored called ‘Let Us Prey’ (Brian O'Malley) which reached the #1 spot on Netflix USA!

What’s in store for the first quarter of 2016?

2016 starts with the second series of ‘Brainfreeze’ which will be airing in the new year on CBBC and RTE. Had a ball scoring this with my co-composer Giles Packham. Beyond that there's a couple of exciting projects that I'm waiting to be completely green-lit before I can say anything!
