Established to represent some of finest animation talent in Ireland, Whirligig was launched this week.
Whirligig is a new offering from Windmill Lane Pictures to predominantly international advertising agencies.
With talent including Brown Bag Films, Cartoon Saloon and many others, Whirligig aims to promote the increasing high-calibre of animation talent based in Ireland to advertising clients in the UK, USA and Middle East.
Irish animation has been described as being in a golden age over the past couple of years with ‘Song of the Sea’ garnering an Oscar nomination earlier this year. On top of that, Irish projects ‘Doc McStuffins’, ‘Peter Rabbit’ and ‘Nelly and Nora’ have all been doing well internationally.
Julie Murnaghan and Samantha Plaisted, both formerly Passion Pictures London, will run all aspects of Whirligig.
Speaking to IFTN Murnaghan said:We are delighted to launch this venture at such an opportune time as the success of Ireland’s animation industry continues to thrive.”
