TV3 has presented its highlights of its autumn schedule to the advertising industry at the Westbury Hotel in Dublin.

TV3 Group Commercial Director Pat Kiely confirmed that TV3’s Group share now stands at 10.4% following the successful launch of the Group’s highly acclaimed new soap ‘Red Rock’ and a strategy to rebuild the TV3 schedule with a focus on increased home production.

TV3’s new Director of Content Lynda McQuaid announced a range of new programming alongside the previously announced Rugby World Cup (all 48 matches live on TV3) and return of ‘Red Rock’. New programmes will include ‘Saturday AM’ & ‘Sunday AM’, ‘The Great Irish Menu’ and a new international format, ‘House Rules’.

Other highlights of the Autumn schedule include:

  • X Factor & Champions League Exclusive to TV3 for the first time
  • Over 60 hours of Celebrity Big Brother this autumn / winter
  • A range of new programmes including ‘The Great Irish Menu’, new international format ‘House Rules’ and new documentary strand ‘Disclosure’ on Monday nights
  • The final 20 constituencies of ‘The People’s Debate with Vincent Browne’
  • 15 Irish TV Movie premieres
  • Over 50% of schedule now Irish originated including 1600 hours of Live studio broadcasting

Speaking at the launch TV3 Group Commercial Director Pat Kiely, said: “TV3 is a more confident broadcaster than ever following a successful transition to originated programming. TV3 now enters autumn knowing it has a successful home-grown soap, the biggest sporting event on Irish television and a very robust schedule, all led by a reinvigorated TV3 brand.”

TV3 Group Director of Content, Lynda McQuaid, said: “I’ve joined TV3 at just the right moment. I inherit a strong new and successful schedule anchored by ‘Red Rock’, so I can focus now on introducing major new programmes to the schedule over the next eighteen months.”
