Jack Reynor cast in Ben Wheatley’s crime drama ‘Free Fire’
10 Jun 2015 : Seán Brosnan
Jack Reynor’s busy schedule continues as he lands role in ‘Free Fire’
Perhaps one of the busiest young actors in the world right now, Jack Reynor has just added to his busy slate by landing a role in Ben Wheatley’s crime drama ‘Free Fire’ alongside fellow Irish actors Cillian Murphy and Michael Smiley.

‘Free Fire’ is set in Boston in 1978 where a meeting in a deserted warehouse between two gangs turns into a shootout and a game of survival. Directed by Ben Wheatley and written by Wheatley and Amy Jump, the film also stars Brie Larson, who is the lead in Lenny Abrahamson’s highly anticipated drama ‘Room’, as well as Sharlto Copley (‘District 9’) and Armie Hammer (‘The Social Network’).

The past 12 months have also seen Reynor cast in Jim Sheridan’s ‘The Secret Scripture’, John Carney’s ‘Sing Street’, Andy Serkis’ ‘Jungle Book: Origins’, Cédric Jimenez’s ‘HHHH’ as well as being attached to an untitled sports drama about baseball star Josh Hamilton that will be directed by Casey Affleck.

Reynor has also just been IFTA nominated for his acclaimed role in ‘Glassland’, a part which previously won him a Special Jury Award at this year’s Sundance. He also starred in ‘A Royal Night Out’ which was released to cinemas last month as well as ‘Macbeth’ alongside Michael Fassbender, which premiered at Cannes.
