The deadline is approaching for the 2015 Fingal Film Festival, with potential submitters only having until June 30th to submit their material.
Festival Director Liz Kenny and her team have stated that they have been “overwhelmed” by the amount of submissions in this, the fourth year of the festival.
This year, the Fingal Film Festival has eight awards up for grabs, which will be presented on the final night of the festival at their awards ceremony on Sunday 27th September 2015 in the Radisson Blu Hotel Dublin Airport. These prizes have been sponsored by organisations such as TG4, Film Equipment Hire Ireland, BAI (Broadcasting Authority of Ireland) Foras na Gaeilge and many more, consisting of prizes ranging from cash – film equipment to broadcasting of films. Awards this year are in the following categories for 2015:
- Best Fingal Newcomer Media Award – Sponsors Cash Prize
- Best Short Film
- Best International Film
- Best Animation Film
- Best Student Film – Sponsors BAI & Film Equipment Hire Ireland voucher worth 1000 euro
- Best Documentary
- Best Feature Film
- Best Irish Language Film – Sponsors TG4 & Foras na Gaeilge winning film will be broadcast on TG4 plus cash prize
The Organizers of the Festival also have a line up of workshops and events throughout this year’s three day event. The full festival schedule will be announced in the coming months, once all submitted films have been selected. The Festival screenings will be held at Movies@Swords this year and promises to screen some of the best local and international films from around the world dates 25th – 27th September 2015.
