The Screen Directors Guild of Ireland has announced details of their tenth annual Directors Finders Series, run in association with the Directors Guild of America.
This event presents Irish feature directors a unique opportunity to screen their film to key distributors & film industry representatives in an effort to gain a US distribution deal.
This opportunity also affords the winning director a unique networking experience during their time in LA in order to enhance & develop their international directorial career.
Last year Terry McMahon’s ‘Patrick’s Day’ (which is nominated for nine IFTA Awards, including Best Film) was the recipient of the DFS, with the director travelling to LA for a special screening at the Directors Guild of America.
In order to be eligible the film must be shot in Ireland and directors must be members of SDGI (new membership is available to directors working in Ireland, subject to certain criteria). The film can be fiction or documentary and must be feature length. The feature must not have US distribution. There is no timeline stipulation and the decision will be made by an international panel of industry experts.
