Event will take place on Monday, May 11
Tyrell CCT (Content Creation Tools) are set to host a Blackmagic Design 4k Open Day on Monday, May 11.

Blackmagic Design has recreated some of the real world workflows used in broadcast, live event and post-production all within a new mobile demonstration vehicle. Featuring its latest products, including those recently announced at NAB 2014, this event, held at Tyrell’s HQ in Dublin, will offer attendees the unique opportunity to discover and experience these products.

Featuring the very latest in Ultra HD, 6G-SDI and 12G-SDI technologies and in addition to supporting Ultra HD, the industry standard workflows being demonstrated also support stand definition and high definition formats used in production today.

Speaking about the Blackmagic, MD Brian Malone said: ‘BlackMagic is unique in our industry due to the constant innovation in the space - it launched 39 new revised products at NAB in April 2015, but with its aggressive product innovation at a price point that breaks down the entry into our market.’

‘Worth over €250,000 the Van has nearly 30 BlackMagic Products on board with new 4K Studio equipment. This will appeal to Broadcasters, Post & Production companies & Live Event Companies, as we believe there is always a BlackMagic Product that you will require.’

Using the ATEM 2M/E Production Studio 4K and ATEM 2 M/E Broadcast Panel anyone involved in live production can see a complete workflow for creating live Ultra HD content, while the inclusion of a full DaVinci Resolve finishing suite means that post facilities can also get a complete Resolve 4K demonstration.

The event will take place on a loading bay indoors ensuring that the Open Day will go ahead regardless of weather.

As one of the leading technology solutions provider for the broadcast, post production, production and education sectors in the UK and Ireland – 2015 has been an exciting year so far for Tyrell.

‘2015 has been exciting so far, with the introduction of Declan Hogan as our new Group Technical Director, this gives us a new approach to the workflow conversation, the goal is to empower efficiency in the sector as we have the knowledge and the portfolio to suit. Some of our most recent successes have been, supply and support of the post production equipment for TV3’s ‘Red Rock’, we were heavily involved in the launch of UTV Ireland with installation of their very innovative News Production system and we’re currently commissioning Queens University new Media Server with edit suites in their new Film Studio in Belfast.’

And the work doesn’t stop there with the BAI’s Archiving Scheme keeping the company busy and the tireless business also plans on adding to its’ support team soon.

Malone said:‘ For the future, we’re clearly focused on deploying clever infrastructure that will enable content creators to be more efficient but ultimately more creative, and its been the BAI’s most recent Archiving Scheme is keeping us very busy drafting proposals for companies with national interest assets, but our USP has always been our support team which we’re planning to add to in the near future.’
