‘Pat Kenny in the Round’, UTV Ireland’s new entertainment series, will begin broadcasting on Monday, 11th May, at 9pm.
Five episodes of the series will run consecutively throughout May and June, with an additional eight episodes broadcasting from autumn.
Speaking ahead of the launch, Pat Kenny said: ‘This is an exciting new chapter in my extended career and I have thoroughly enjoyed preparing for my return to television screens with UTV Ireland. We are all very pleased with the first recordings and the format of the series is unlike anything else I have presented in the past. I have been fortunate to interview many fascinating people since I began broadcasting, but this series has given me the opportunity to get a truly in-depth feeling for each of our guests. I hope that audiences of all ages are as captivated by their stories as I have been.’
The guests who will feature on Pat Kenny in the Round will be a mix of Irish and international personalities who have achieved greatness in their respective fields. Throughout each interview, Pat will delve into the personal and professional lives of each guest – looking back and discussing the defining moments that shaped them as the people they are.
Filmed as live in front of a studio audience of 150 people, ‘Pat Kenny in the Round’ will be an hour-long entertainment show, recorded in the Round Room of Dublin’s Mansion House. (Check out the website of the Mansion House here).

Pat’s return to television marks a significant milestone in Irish broadcasting and we want to give the series every opportunity to reach a wide-ranging audience. Monday nights are among UTV Ireland’s strongest in terms viewership, so the 9pm slot is a great fit for the show.’
‘Recordings for Pat Kenny in the Round began earlier this month, where we filmed two superb interviews with Commander Chris Hadfield and Lulu – both of whom spoke candidly about their personal and professional lives. The overall production of the series is very strong and the look and feel is different to any other interview-based programme on Irish television. Further recordings will take place over the coming weeks and months and the name of the guest for our first broadcast will be revealed shortly.’
