Elizabeth Laragy, RTÉ Radio 1, collected the award for ‘Call The Dark’ saying: ‘I’m delighted to have won this award today. I’ve been looking at the other people who’ve won awards over the past couple of days and thinking ‘wow, such talent’ so to even be among the nominees was a huge honour, so I’m blown away to get this award. It’s fantastic.’
Robert Mulhern collected the award for ‘Never Knocked Down’, and said:‘I’m really thrilled. I wasn’t expecting it, there were 10 other nominees in the category. I’m really chuffed, it hasn’t sunk in yet really.’
Michelle Nic Grianna, who won for Best Personality/Presenter, said: ‘This award really means a lot, I’m absolutely delighted that I’ve received this today, and I’d like to thank everybody who has helped me with the programme along the away.’
The Celtic Media Festival was a successful one for the Irish with Terry McMahon’s feature ‘Patrick’s Day’, Touchline Media’s documentary ‘Arkle’, Scratch Films’ arts programme ‘Dolores Keane: A Storm in the Heart’, TG4’s short drama ‘Sínte’, Flickerpix’s app ‘Seamus Heaney Five Fables’, and the RTÉ/BBC co-production ‘The Disappeared’ all picking up gongs also.
